First Avenue Mile - Weather Update
Event coordinators have been in close communication with City Officials and the National Weather Service regarding the forecast for Friday evening. Our top priority remains the safety of all participants and the successful execution of the event.
While we are using every resource available to make the most informed decision possible, Minnesota weather can be unpredictable. As of now, the event is scheduled to proceed as planned.
Here is our weather contingency plan:
- Rain: The event will continue with no changes.
- Lightning in the area: A 30-minute delay will be implemented, and race waves and start times may be adjusted accordingly.
- Severe weather: If conditions make it unsafe to hold the event Friday evening, we will reschedule to 9:00 AM on Saturday, July 12, though some changes to logistics and staffing may occur.
If there are any changes overnight, participants will receive an update via email by noon Friday morning.
