Adult Painting Program
(Minnesota State Arts Board Grant with Instructor Amy Lucas of 321 Art Studio)
January-March 2024
A free Adult Painting Program will be held in four libraries throughout Northeastern Minnesota. All materials will be provided.
Each group will hold seven, four-hour sessions.
The first 1.5 hours of each session will be a step-by-step instructional drawing/painting using acrylic paint and some type of canvas. Then participants may choose to leave. Others may choose to stay and continue working on the first project, start a new project, or get help from the instructor on something they have started at home. Other participants are welcome to come in to the session after the step-by-step portion and just use available materials to begin their own projects. They also have the option of bringing in a personal painting project from home to receive assistance from Amy.
While attendance is encouraged at all sessions, participants may attend whichever ones they can. Pre-registrations are necessary so the appropriate amount of supplies can be purchased. (Number of participants may be limited to space available.)
This program will focus on acrylic painting and the content will be adjusted to the members of each group.
Amy Lucas is a fiscal year 2024 recipient of a Creative Support for Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thangs to a legislative appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature; and by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
