Addressing youth substance use 

Next Dine & Learn at Hibbing Public Library

Hibbing Public Library has launched a four-part, wellness educational series in partnership with St. Louis County Public Health, Essentia Health, Friends of the Hibbing Public Library and Northern Communities Credit Union. Sessions began in January and continue next week.

The third installment “Youth Substance Use” from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Hibbing Public Library. The event is free, includes a light meal and is for all ages. 

Join us in talking about substance use trends and learn some of the signs and symptoms to watch for. Presenters will provide tips and guidance for initiating conversations with youth about substance use. There will also be information on local resources available. 

While registration is not required, a reply to the Hibbing Public Library’s Facebook event would be appreciated as it assists with food count. Find the event here: 

Hibbing Transit will also be offering rides. Call 218-263-7115 to confirm pickup times. 

The final Dine & Learn session will be “Mental Health/Suicide Prevention” on April 18. Each session is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Hibbing Public Library.
