Update on our brave survivor (June 3): Many of you have commented on the heartbreaking story of this stray dog we found with a bullet lodged in his face and a broken jaw — and your concern, questions, and support have meant the world.
We’re relieved and overjoyed to share that he is recovering beautifully. After receiving urgent medical care, love, and a lot of rest, this resilient pup is on the mend.
But the best news? He’s officially found his forever home! He’ll never have to face fear, hunger, or harm again. All of the information we have on him has been passed on to the Hibbing Police Department.

This pitbull was found in the 23300 block of North Leighton Road and taken to Hibbing Animal Intake by HPD on Wednesday, May 28. The canine is a male, not neutered and was found with a bullet in its face (wound not visible in photo) and a broken jaw.
