** Investment brings enhanced fan experience, community partnership opportunities **
Nearly one month after the historic Memorial Building scoreboard was lowered from the arena ceiling, a brand-new, state-of-the-art, four-sided digital video board has officially taken its place above center ice.
The upgrade is designed to deliver a dynamic, modern sports experience for athletes, fans, and community members who attend events at the arena.
“This project is about more than just replacing old equipment — it’s about creating a modern, engaging experience for our community,” said City Services Director Nick Arola.
“The new scoreboard will enhance the atmosphere at games, increase the fan experience, provide opportunities for local businesses to show their support, and ensure Hibbing’s arena continues to be a top-notch facility for years to come.”
Benefits of the New Digital Scoreboard:
- High-quality video displays to enhance the fan experience
- Opportunities for local business “partnerships” and recognition
- A boost to Hibbing’s reputation as a regional hub for athletics and community events
- A long-term investment in the city’s future growth and resilience
In addition to the main, center-ice video board, the scoreboards on the north and south ends of the rink have also been upgraded with new equipment. The total project cost is approximately $350,000, with the retired scoreboards set to be scrapped, according to Arola.
The City of Hibbing invites local businesses and organizations to partner in this exciting new chapter for the Memorial Building arena. To be included on the new scoreboard, contact City Services Director Nick Arola at nickarola@hibbingmn.gov.
