Tony has been a member of the Hibbing Fire Department since April, 2006. He holds an Associate’s degree in Paramedicine from Mesabi Range College, a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science (administration) from Kaplan University where he graduated top of his class, and a 2019 graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Administration, majoring in Emergency Services Management from Columbia Southern University, and Chief Fire Officer (CFO) credentialing form the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE). He holds Pro-Board/IFSAC certifications in Firefighter 1&2, Officer 1, Instructor 1, Apparatus Operator, and is a qualified instructor for the Minnesota Board of Firefighter Training and Education. Tony has also represented the Hibbing Professional Firefighters Local 173 in the capacities of Secretary/Treasurer and President for the past 14 years. He has been awarded the Hibbing Fire Department Medal of Valor, four citations for bravery and meritorious conduct, and was voted twice by his peers as firefighter of the year. Tony also serves as the clerk of the Hibbing Fire department responsible for payroll, budgeting and grant writing. He and his twin brother Frank were among the youngest in the United States to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. He and his wife Marie have three children, Leah, Tommy, and Jake. Tony also coaches track and field for Hibbing High School and enjoys camping in his off time.
