The city council acted Wednesday, June 26, to authorize posting a notice for a public hearing in regard to changes to Chapter 2 of City Ordinance in regard to changes to city administrator emergency purchasing. This change was recommended by the city's finance director who noted that the current city ordinance is more restrictive when it comes to purchasing practices. These changes would reflect what’s authorized in MN State Statute and will make the purchasing process easier and less cumbersome.
The council is anticipated to take action on the recommended changes at its July 10th meeting.
