 Greetings,

The City of Hibbing awarded the 2023 Paving project to KGM Constructors. As part of the project this year, we will be rehabilitating 21st Street from 1st Avenue to 7th Avenue East. The project details are as follows:

New bituminous surface

  • Partial curbing and sidewalk replacement. 
  • We will be removing and replacing any broken curbing. 
  • We will be removing and replacing any sidewalk that is adjacent to the broken curbing (where there is no boulevard).
  • We will be installing new handicap ramps at all intersections.

 There may be times when you cannot access your driveways during construction. We ask that you please be patient.

 Construction is planned to start on May 15th and should be completed in June.  

June 1st & 2nd – Pave the frontage road by Holiday and the Ford Garage, hope to get the base course and wear course completed

                                Bituminous Milling on Southview Drive

June 5th – 9th – Pave Southview Drive, Pave the frontage Road by IronRange Tire

                             Pave 1st Avenue Frontage Road

                           Begin Placing the class 5 base on Pintar Road

                           End of Week begin concrete removal on 21st Street

June 12th – 16th – Pave Pintar Road

                                Pave 6th Avenue West, Pave 7th Avenue West

                               Finish Paving 19th Avenue East

                               Place all concrete on 21st Street

June 19th – 23rd – Pave 21st Street

                               Place shouldering material
