Members

The Planning Commission and the Zoning Board of Adjustments & Appeals consist of 5 members appointed to three or four year terms and the City Clerk/Treasurer and the City Engineer. Board Members must be residents of the City of Hibbing.

Purpose

The purpose of the Planning Commission and the Zoning Board of Adjustments & Appeals is to oversee the City Land Use Ordinance and to provide land use recommendations to the City Council. Both the Commission and the Board are supported and advised by a full-time City staff member.

All boards and commissions are governed by Chapter 2 Section 15 of the City Ordinances. In addition, the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Adjustments & Appeals is also governed by Chapter 2 Section 17 of the City Ordinances.
